Hi Everyone,

Just want to let you know what is currently happening with the very busy safety portfolio. The National Mandate of the CSPS is the promotion of safe skiing/boarding and administration of first-aid.  The SAZ does an excellent job at promoting safe skiing (recognized both nationally and divisonally).  We have a very dedicated group of patrollers who give "Safety Now" presentations at schools that are participating in ski trips to Castle Mountain.  The trips started the 3rd week in January and will continue until the 3rd week of March.

Bart Leavitt looks after the area to the south and west so has travelled to schools in Pincher Creek, Cardston, Glenwood and Magrath.

Edgar Dueck covers the east, so has done presentations in Taber, Coaldale, Lomond, Warner and Barnwell.

Jim Wilson looks after all the Catholic schools in the city.

Gina Troskott did 2 presentations in Ft. Macleod.

Francois Eudes is giving a French presentation here in Lethbridge.

Bryan Smith didn't return as an active patroller this year but was still willing to continue doing safety presentations (we're so grateful!).  Bryan covers the area North so hs travelled to Milo, Stavely, Claresholm, Champion, Granum, Picture Butte, Nobleford and Coalhurst.

Each presentation takes 45 minutes to an hour plus travelling time--this is a significant committment.  We reach about 2,500 students and we know the presentations  will make a difference in someone's life...........Stay safe!
